Purgatory theory

Howdy folks!

Today I want to discuss purgatory. While I understand all religions view it differently obviously my views are consistent with pop culture references. The whole point in this blog is to share my views on shows/movies/books with the world! That is the premise of this next paragraph my views on purgatory.

Let me start off by stating I do believe in some religious affiliations but my beliefs aren’t concrete. I’d like to dive into the Good Place first and see where I go from there. Spoiler alert!!! In the Good Place there are actually 3 solid different afterlife’s that are discussed outside of the whole not existing bit that happens in the end. The first being the good place, this is the place where whichever higher being you believe in deems you to be genuinely a good person. The second being the bad place, this is where people who are deemed bad go. Then in this show there is the medium place where this chick named Mindy lives because she was deemed to be somewhere indeterminately in the middle. This is that shows depiction of purgatory. In this show they let the 4 main characters try life again to get better at it. While they all failed this led me to do some thinking of my own. Which we’ll get back to later!

The other show that has both a good place being heaven in the series and a bad place being hell in the series is Lucifer. In Lucifer, God the higher being depicted in this show is the decider, if you’re seemingly good or bad you go to your perspective places. There isn’t really a third place in this show which led to me writing this post!

My opinion is that in Lucifer at least purgatory is depicted as earth  but it also becomes valuable for other spiritual beings as well such as Maz and Amenadiel. Sorry more spoilers! In Lucifer, Lucifer himself angel of the underworld comes to earth and in doing so learns how to become better and ends up taking over heaven when god retires. Similar things happen for both Maz and Amenadiel on their journeys.

This all leads to the ultimate question to which the answer is not 42! Actually, jk it might be who knows! My ultimate question is earth purgatory? Earth is full of positives and negatives that happen in each persons life. What if you have to go through life 42 times with memories erased each life (like in good place) to determine whether you’re good or bad?

Anyways, let me know what you think about this idea or if you have any other theories I should talk about in future posts!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

To start off I’d like to say that this of all the Harry Potter’s is my least favorite. Before asked I don’t know why outside of the fact that I need breaks. This is the one story of the series that I feel is too much, I love detail and time to really have the chance to imagine a story outside of battle and drama this movie/book is doing too much. I want to know when Harry has a nice calm day without all the drama and only small Weasley brother shenanigans.

In the movie my main criticism is where is Peeves?? I hate how excluded my favorite poltergeist is, who doesn’t love a little mischief?!? The next lacking moment where the film drives me a little crazy is the lack of Arthur Weasley, usually I skip around in the film like I said prior I’m not too fond of this one. But I’m pretty sure I’d like it more with the greatness that is Arthur Weasley in the beginning. When he told off the Dursley’s, when he told Fred and George to hide their mischief from their mom. To be honest, Arthur for me at least barely existed in the movies, he didn’t really matter. In the books though!! In the books Arthur isn’t even nearly as overshadowed by Molly which to me is beautiful. The lack of explanation of certain things in the movies is so bleh like I don’t ever recall Veela explained as an example. Anyways, I also have some positives for the movies.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I honestly prefer the way they did the World Cup in the movie as opposed to the book while I found it overwhelming as most scenes in the movie, I do love the lack of Winky because to be honest I feel it slightly unnecessary. Yes I am aware this will get some hate.

The Vegetarian Vampire Ultimate Theory

As I play Midnight Sun the latest of the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyer for the first time I think about a lot of ideas, but one in particular is what I will be discussing for this post.

I like to call it my vegetarian vampire theory. So among the great vampires who are vegetarian the only I can really think of are those in Twilight and Stefan in Vampire Diaries, I came up with a concept that I don’t quite understand why it isn’t used more. Why aren’t vegetarian vampires thinking about being farmers? Yes, you may find this to be a weird concept. No, I haven’t worked out every detail so bear with me.

If vegetarian vampires aka vampires that only eat animal blood were farmers they wouldn’t have to kill anything at all ever. This is my I live in a perfect world where nothing ever has to die theory. Yes, I know this is far fetched but also personally I feel like a great idea since I’m one of those people who definitely favors animals over people.

Some math for you to ponder upon: according to google vampires need about 9 liters of blood daily to sustain life. After reading Twilight and watching Vampire Diaries as well as its spin-offs, one could assume it may even be less than this but why not round up. Cows have roughly about 37 liters of blood, one could assume that losing 10% of blood would not generally affect the cow. So 3.7 liter, for one cow. Y’all with me? Say a vampire farmer has 20 cows, that is 74 liters in a day. Therefore, if you assume a cow can replenish its blood in a week a vampire can sustain its needs for a week and still have 10 liters left over for surplus. Assuming they only have the 20 cows but why have just cows when you can have an array of farm animals, keep your appearance as a farmer and maintain your supply giving your animals all longer recoup times.

That my friends is the ultimate vegetarian vampire theory.
